Geeks3D has released MadView3D, a lightweight free cross-platform 3D model viewer.
A lightweight 3D file viewer with some nice display options MadView3D provides a quick way to preview models without having to wait for your main 3D application to load, or to do so on machines without any DCC software installed.
It offers the usual choice of textured or wireframe display modes, plus the option to display the background grid or the model’s bounding box.
There are also a few other nice touches, like the option to set the colour of the background and lights, and to adjust the field of view of the view camera.
There is also a built-in checkermap, so you can use it to check UVs.
Runs on a unique range of hardware MadView3D isn’t the only free model viewer on the market: for example, we’ve covered both Autodesk’s FBX Review and Transform and Lighting’s mobile-focused Emb3D in the past.
It isn’t as slickly presented as either of those apps, and unlike FBX Review, it doesn’t support animation.
However, it has its own strengths, and it runs on a unique range of desktop platforms: as well as Windows, Linux and macOS, you can use it on a Raspberry Pi or an Asus Tinker Board.
System requirements MadView3D is available for 64-bit Windows, Linux and macOS. It’s a free download.
After many years as a fan of Nanaca Crash!! I finally decided to retry CC. My first attempt ended without finishing the 'first week'. I've played 2 other VNs before this, Snow Sakura and G-Senjou no Maou (the latter I was not a fan of.) I wouldn't say I love VNs or hate them, more like indifferent about them and have a hard time categorizing them as games (which is not a bad thing, it can be its own thing without being categorized as this or that and still be a worthwhile medium.
Anyway, I dunno, I'm a grown man and I teared up on 2-3 occasions, is this common in VNs, but nonetheless this is like ultra big deal for me. Maybe it has to do with the subject matter of the story that makes me specifically weak to it, or maybe it was the pacing, the atmosphere it gave off and the consistancy of it, and the music, and the characters.. I dunno, I'm just so in love with it and I have to just kinda get it off my chest and I figured its not totally off topic in these parts.
I would easily put this in my top 5 games of all time, if I did categorized it as a game. I kinda actually wished if this wasn't a VN so I can recommended it to my friends without being ridiculed, that and even if they did try it, the first 5 hours of the game can be off putting, as it made even me quit before. Since the game got rereleased relatively recently, is there any chance that this might see some sort of anime adaptation so that it can be accepted by a more general audience? (yes, anime is more mainstream than VNs.. relatively.)
I dunno, and maybe this can be a place where we can discuss the game in general. Sorry if I dug up something so ancient and this is coming from left field. I'm not really a 'fan' of VNs and I don't know the trends and the latest happenings of this world.
*I guess I played another VN before, Sakura Spirit on Steam but I don't really want to talk about that one, there's hardly anything to talk about.
